SCHOLARSHIPS
Beyond federal financial aid, students should seek out opportunities by applying for as many scholarships as they can. Millions of dollars are given annually to students/adults who wish to further their education. Why wait? Start early as some scholarships are available to freshman to apply to. Here’s a rule of thumb in the timeline of most scholarships that are released…..
**Tip #1 – Prioritize your scholarships by its deadlines and don’t procrastinate in starting them. If you rush through the application process you may miss important details. If a deadline says March 15th, submit it earlier…..there are many instances where scholarship committees can still have time to reach out to you if something is missing or is incorrect on the application.
**Tip #2 – If you are in high school, consistently check in with your high school counselor/advisor to find out what scholarships are available. There are many district scholarship opportunities that you may be eligible to apply to.
**Tip #3 – Avoid potential scholarship scams!!!! Remember, you should never have to pay to apply to scholarship programs.
